My audiology journey began in 2008 when I answered a Scottish Government recruitment campaign encouraging science graduates to join the profession. This opportunity led me to Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, where I completed a two-year Graduate Diploma in Audiology. From that moment, I knew I had found a career that combined science, healthcare, and the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Following qualification, I worked across a number of NHS audiology clinics in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, gaining extensive experience in both adult and paediatric audiology. These early years allowed me to develop and refine my clinical skills while working with patients of all ages and hearing needs.

Today, with over 18 years of clinical experience across both the NHS and private sectors, and education to Master’s level, I bring a broad range of knowledge and expertise to my practice. While I enjoy all aspects of audiology, I have a particular passion for paediatric assessment and rehabilitation, helping children and their families navigate hearing challenges with confidence and support.

In 2019 I founded the Ear Works. The clinic was created to provide an accessible and affordable alternative to NHS audiology services at a time when waiting times were becoming increasingly challenging. Over the past 7 years the practice has grew from strength to strength, supporting countless patients throughout Edinburgh and beyond and we have recently opened the first paediatric audiology clinic for children under 3 years across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and the Scottish Borders.

Alongside running The Ear Works, I continue to work within the NHS and serve as a Clinical Audiology Advisor for the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman in Edinburgh. I am also volunteer with the National Deaf Children’s Society, a charity that is particularly close to my heart.

I hold professional registration with both the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), ensuring my practice remains aligned with the highest professional and clinical standards. I have very recently completed the British Academy of Audiology Higher training scheme in paediatrics which involved external validation of my clinical practice for paediatrics.
